A month into the journey, the expedition arrived at dusk at an abandoned keep. To avoid past mistakes, Ilam inspected all of the surroundings, and decided to stay for the night there. The guard turns succeeded until Fenrig's turn, who decided to take a short nap during his watch. Moments later the door where the group was sleeping opened, and a darkened silhouette came out, Orcen's cousin. He quietly approached Fenrig with a dagger in hand and carefully put it on his throat, waking him up, and said to him ''Start walking''. Fenrig got up of his chair and started walking until the keep was barely visible. The man told Fenrig to kneel down on his knees ‘‘why? Why are you doing this?'' Asked Fenrig, pretending not to know what's happening. While kneeling down, he picked up a rock the size of a fist. ''Shut up and die you filth''. As soon as he spoke those words Fenrig got up and hit him in the head with the rock, knocking him out, then quickly picked up the dagger and stabbed his heart. Fenrig then dragged the dead body and with no regrets no remorse threw it down a canyon nearby, before going back to the keep, and finished his watch. When Ilam came to take turns, Fenrig asked him: ''Did Orcen's cousin come back? I saw him leave the building some time ago'' '' No, when did you see him?'' '' Minutes after I took my turn'' then Fenrig went inside to have some sleep At dawn, the whole group got up and prepared Ilam demanded everybody's attention for an announcement: ''Erce, Orcen's cousin, is nowhere to be found, He left at night, i went looking for him, didn't find anything but a puddle of blood in a canyon not far away from here. We unfortunately must leave'' Even though the group didn't agree, they had to because their supplies and water was running out.
